KRISTIN KLEYER MANGUM
FIBER MIXED MEDIA
Kristin Kleyer Mangum is a Fiber Mixed Media Artist, with her home & studio in Scottsdale, Arizona.
She creates her artworks with hand selected pure wools, cottons & precious finds from all over the world - collected while studying, living & traveling internationally.
Creating her fiber mixed media sculptures allows her to use the traditional techniques & mediums she has acquired throughout her formal art education & her career as an art educator & artist.
One sculpture - inspired by one country - landscape, architecture & culture.
Producing while traveling & in her studio - sculptures take weeks to months to create.
Stitch by stitch, coil by coil, with hand & needle, she weaves her international pure wools around cotton.
She further builds & incorporates ceramic, wood & metal forms - adding painting, drawing
& her precious finds.
Her artworks are tactile, helping to connect, feel & evoke the senses. Making a statement with natural, earthy, organic materials & forms – displaying a “Piece of the World”.
Her sculptures are meant to flow & easily be sat or hung in any shape or designed space. Each piece stands strong alone or beautifully unites with others – uniting global natural beauty.
