KRISTIN KLEYER MANGUM
Kristin Kleyer Mangum is a Fiber Mixed Media Artist, with her home and studio in Scottsdale, Arizona USA.
She creates her artworks with hand selected pure wools, cottons and precious finds from all over the world -
collected while studying, living and traveling internationally.
Creating her fiber mixed media sculptures allows her to use the traditional techniques and mediums she has acquired throughout her formal art education and her career as an art educator and artist.
One sculpture - inspired by one country - landscape, architecture and culture.
Producing while traveling and in her studio - sculptures take weeks to months to create.
Stitch by stitch, coil by coil, with hand and needle, she weaves her international pure wools around cotton.
She further builds and incorporates ceramic, wood and metal forms - adding painting, drawing
and her precious finds.
Her artworks are tactile, helping to connect, feel and evoke the senses.
Making a statement with natural, earthy, organic materials and forms – displaying a “Piece of the World”.
Her sculptures are meant to flow and easily be sat or hung in any shape or designed space.
Each piece stands strong alone or beautifully unites with others – uniting global natural beauty.
